Our Leaders.
ZACH MILLER
Zach is the lead pastor at Ascent Church. He is responsible for preaching, teaching, and vision, and oversees all the operations at the church. Prior to planting Ascent Church, Zach was the lead pastor at Clear River Church in Lafayette, IN. In his free time, you’ll find Zach with his wife and 4 children or using his Ridgid tools to build something.
Mark Holsinger
Mark is our worship leader at Ascent Church. He is responsible for all things worship: leading worship for our Sunday gatherings, leading the worship team, training new worship team members, and managing all the equipment. Mark moved with the team from Indiana to help start Ascent. He also leads a small group. In his spare time, you’ll find him working on his house or playing games with others.
Grant Irby
Grant and his family moved to Blacksburg to help plant Ascent Church. He serves on our board of overseers, helping make big-picture vision and direction decisions with our other overseers. He also will help teach the Bible on Sundays. He’s been a great help to Ascent Church!
Victoria Greenwell
Victoria volunteers as the Coordinator of our Kids Program. She works in the school system during the week and has great experience with kids. Her responsibilities include coordinating all the moving pieces of the kids program: the curriculum, the volunteers, the schedule, and the kids area. Victoria moved with the team from Indiana to help start Ascent. She’s been such a gift to Ascent Church, our kids, and our families.
Clay Beckner
Clay is our numbers guy. His responsibilities include organizing the church finances, budgets, and bank accounts. Clay and his family moved with the team from Indiana to help start Ascent. He also leads a small group. In his spare time, you’ll find Clay playing roller hockey or shooting his bow.
